Freeze panes

This topic turned out to be livelier than I expected it to be when I
saw the first message.

Freezing panes was added by popular demand to the Mesa/2 spreadsheet
that I used when I was using OS/2. It also followed the XL pattern
being debated here, and I found it quite natural: I thought of it as
defining the HOME location of the sheet. The visible part of the
frozen rows and columns were also used as headers when printing --
which was what I always wanted. (Gnumeric users would probably prefer
that this be an optional shortcut.)

The suggestion of a one-step unfreeze-refreeze is interesting, but it
may be hard to reach agreement on what it should do. I often move
part of the sheet off-screen before freezing panes if that part is
used for resources that need to be used but not seen.
