Hi,

at first i have to say that i actually do not use gnumeric - because i use windows, actually.
Yesterday i found a problem in Excel which frustrates me a little bit. 
Making some statistics (from non-linear regression) i used a value (AIC) which i have to round up, because 
it's connected with measurement error. This value can be negative or positive. 
If i use the ROUNDUP function in Excel and the value to round up is negative, this value is in fact rounded 
down! (And vice versa with the ROUNDDOWN function. See below for an example.)
Looking at the Gnumeric documentation i saw that these functions should be Excel compatible, but they aren't. 
I guess that MS rounds the absolute values (with respect to financial mathematics?).
I don't think that you should change the behaviour of ROUNDUP/ROUNDDOWN (because your "version" works 
correct), but may be you should implement a function (with another name) which has the same behaviour as in 
Excel.

Gnumeric docu:
ROUNDUP(-3.3) equals -3

MS Excel 2000 (German version):
ROUNDUP(-3.3) equals -4

BTW, i don't see a function TRUNC(x,y) with truncation to the yth decimal place in Excel - but i use a German 
version, that's why i dont know the english Excel name. What should it be?
