Installing Gnumeric 1.4.3 after 1.4.2

Hello.

Here's a basic question for you.

I installed gnumeric 1.4.2 installed from source and would like to install 1.4.3. 

I understand how to do the installation of the new version, but is there something I have to do to the old 
version before I install the new version? Do I have to delete some parts of 1.4.2? If so is there a 
systematic way or do I need to search for pieces of the old version in an ad hoc way?
