Previously the CNS (complex number string) representation was
rather strictly limited to things of the form "1+2," with no
spaces allowed. I have written some code to make this much
less strict, so that " 1 + 2i " is allowed.
This is a good idea and matches what Excel does.
Please file at bugzilla.gnome.org -- it's much better at keeping track of
things than the mailing list.
Is there any policy or any wise lore about what to do if/when
there is a conflict between doing the right thing and being XL
compatible?
While this doesn't apply here, the general policy is to follow Excel semantics,
except when Excel does something clearly wrong.
Morten
