The R package called Gnumeric isn't maintained by us.

That said, the ssconvert program is a part of Gnumeric and you would
install it doing something like this:

    sudo apt-get install gnumeric

Having done that, you should have the ssconvert available.

If that doesn't work, please file a bug with Ubuntu.
