tables

I guess this is a simple question, but I still have problems with these
tables.

How can i get the contents of a table?

I need a function like

  GtkWidget* data =
  gtk_table_get_data(GTK_TABLE(table), int left, int right, int t, int b)

where left, right, top , bottom is the position of a widget I formerly
attached to this table.
