Okay but my best advice of caution on that is that there's a
99% chance that it won't work for others based on statistical
history.

Now if you're an experienced coder and platform negotiator I'd
void the above but since yer asking basic questions about GTK+,
you know... it might be a while longer before that methoid would
be refined to work. I mean like how many times have you written
a module and compiled it the first time without errors?  I'm pretty
sure no coder has ;)

Well ummm I don't see how mysql and GTK+ are related, one is a GUI
toolkit another is a database, I don't see the connection.
Can't you learn GTK+ first then go on to MySQL?

Well to be honest I think your approach is very obtuse and
really isn't the best approach possible.

But if you have any questions about GTK+ and related things feel
