zvtterm problems

Hi,
  I have some problems using the zvtterm widget. I created the widget as
  described in the documentation, but I always get black lines if many
  lines are printed. The same thing happens in the zterm example
  program included in the distribution. What am I doing wrong?

  I use debian woody x86 with gnome 1.4.
