gnome-terminal question

Hello,

I know this isn't the right place, but I'm not subscribed to some Gnome
mailing list, so...  The question is: anyone can tell me why
gnome-terminal lamely ignores any parameters I would give on the command
line?  E.g. --font doesn't work, --command (or -e) the same, etc.  These
commands would be very useful to me..
