Pixmap on button (age old question)

Hello,

returning to gtk after other intermediary projects I can't do the basics
anymore it seems.
I want a button to have the exact size of the rectangular pixmap that I
put in it without any fat gray borders. How do I accomplish this? Is
gtk_widget_shape_combine_mask the way to go even for something simpler
and rectangular in shape?
