Reserved Accel Keys

Hi,

	 I was wondering if its not possible to use such accel keys as the
delete key in Gtk. It seems that everytime I try to set the delete key as an
accel, it gets accepted but the key is not visible on the menu or works. Even
when I try to set an accel manually by pulling down the menu and hitting a key,
it accepts all keys except for the delete key. Is there a reason behind this,
is there a way around it?
