This is embarrassing - the pango-0.12.tar.gz tarball in the
dependencies directory was not the real pango-0.12.tar.gz but
a test pre-release. I've fixed that now. The md5sum on
pango-0.12.tar.gz should be:

$ md5sum pango-0.12.tar.gz 
1a99cf704d089cfe15678da1c80ecfca  pango-0.12.tar.gz
