how long before gtk2.0 freeze?

I know you guys working hard on the gtk2.0 branch at the moment but
how long will it be before freeze?

I just ask because I'm very intrested to start write my C/C++ enviroment
(written in C++)
for upcoming Gtk. No plans to release before Gtk 2.0 is stable thought...
 
If there is now answer yet, just dump this mail in the trashcan :-)
