I think Daniel is wrong here. Those widgets are not used in the Gimp core.
As far as I know only the scanner plug-ins use them.

Yeah, we will put any widget we need and you drop out of GTK+ into
Gimp's UI libraries. The plan is to have a small set of libraries in
Gimp-1.4 that can also be used separated from The GIMP. So if other
projects need that stuff too, they can either implement it themselves
or link to libgimpui and friends.
