are you sure we are talking about the same problem?

gtk_clipboard_wait_for_text is for getting the clipboard contents -- but
the problem is in answering clipboard requests.

i.e. I set some clipboard text via gtk_clipboard_set_text, and then let
g_main_loop_run continue, but other clients will wait indefinitely for X
clipboard request answers.
