I disagree: it also occurs whenever you are paged out, or if you embedded
a new object that would need to be activated.   So there are many local
cases as well.  It is fast machines with tons of memory that is letting
you get away with it to the extent you do.

And nearly everyone gets advanced with applications they know very well.

This goes to the core of "predictable behavior": if a system doesn't have
predictable behavior, then people will always slow down, and think
"why did that system do that then?  That was broken.)>
