new CList/CTree: adding columns

I am vaguely aware that the new CList/CTree widget in GTK+ 2.0 is influenced
by gal's ETable. I am concerned that it is not possible to change the number
of columns in an ETable after it has been created. It is possible to change
the number of rows. Will the new GTK+ widget have this limitation?

Also, will the new widget use the same XML specification idea?
