Wild guess here - you might say that the Mac-style arrangement makes it
easier to see/hit the OK button (the most common choice I assume) by putting
it right down in the corner.

Personally I do not care about the particular choice of arrangements, but I
*do* care about two things: 1) pick one arrangement and stick with it *for
the rest of time*; there will be quite a lag time until most applications
catch up with the standard, and this price should only need to be paid once.
2) do *not* make the arrangement user-configurable; it will only worsen the
pain.
