GTK+-2.0.0 release schedule

I discussed schedule issues with Tim on Monday, and what we are
planning on now is approximately:

 Feb 14 - GTK+-1.3.14
Feb 21 - GTK+-1.3.15 (almost final ... no more major changes)
 Mar 1 - GTK+-2.0.0

Becaus March 1 is a Friday, what probably makes sense is to make up
tarballs then for testing, and do the formal release on Monday March 4.

This is a aggressive time schedule, so we're going to have to do
correspondingly aggressive punting of non-critical issues. In
particular, I suspect I won't have time to get to some or all of the
outstanding "remove use of deprecated functions" patches before 2.0.0.

In addition to fixing bugs, some of the things which would be good to
do before the release are:

 - Update the website to be at least reasonably recent.
 - Collect information about what platforms GTK+-2.0.0 will be expected
   to compile and work on.

It might be nice to do a little more formal announcement for the
release as well; if we can get a rough draft written up soon, we
presumably can get some advice from the GNOME marketing working group.

Regards,
                                        Owen
