first of all: gtk-devel-list is about discussing development of GTK+
(as well as Pango, ATK and glib), not about usage of GTK+ and friends.
So if your question was indeed about glib (which it is not, see below),
it would have still been the wrong mailing-list to ask your question.
It should have gone to gtk-list.

Now to the real problem: you are mixing up glibc and glib. glibc is
the GNU implementation of libc and is not related to glib.
