The issue is that the Ctrl+Shift+hex feature comes from the default
input method - so if you change methods it isn't there anymore.
It's conceivable that Ctrl+Shift+hex would conflict with some input
methods, so it seems sort of hard to fix this. But maybe people have
ideas.
