signals in GTK 2

Hi all,

I started using GTK+ 2.0.
Reading the docs about signals they talk about a list of functions such as
gtk_signal_connect() & C. that result to be deprecated (and infact I cannot
find the gtk_signal_connect in new libraries).

So what are the new functions for managing signals?
Is there some documentation about it?
