Transparent menus

Hi All,

how do you get menus in gtk+ 2.0 to have a transparent background? 

I tried setting a transparent pixmap in the gtkrc file with the effect that the menu got a strange
background color. What I am aiming for is something like gnome-terminal with a transparent background.

Any help appreciated.
