GDK porting

hi,

please could someone direct me to and documentation on GDK porting ?
I'm wanting to port GDK to a non-windowing "frambuffer-like" system.
i'm assuming that taking the gdk/linux-fb and changing that source would be 
the best option, but have been unable to find some "hard" documentaion on 
this.
