need help:

hi all
 
 I have a problem. The situation is like this

 When i press a button in a dialog I will get a new window with 
buttons( according to the selection of data there in dialog ). I 
can have several such windows at a time. I want to do something whenever 
the new window has focus or it's buttons are clicked. But the buttons are 
not at all responding for the clicks. What could be the reason for this
