yet another configure trouble

Hi folks,


i've got yet another configure problem: 

It doesn't find some parts of X11 (XIproto.h), because it doesnt
use the right include path. 

config.log shows up, that no pathes are passed to gcc for the 
test - this of course cannot work.

How can I build gtk2 nevertheless ? Am I forced to write my
own buildsystem to replace configure ?
