The information you've provided is interesting, and it raises complementary 
questions :
- currently, how many people work for Gtk+ developpment and/or maintenance a 
significant part of their work time ? what is the current yearly amount of 
man-hours for Gtk+ ?
- by which companies are they employed / how are they financed for their 
work ?
- can you evaluate in terms of yearly man-hours the extra man work you are 
calling for ?
