Are you sugesting that highlighting be a site-dependant feature ?
i.e. g_regexp_supported() ... similar to g_thread_supported() ?

Is that an acceptable trend ?

Also... 144KB is pretty non-negligable in an embedded context...
maybe a GModule'ish approach could make that dependancy optional...
I couldnt say if the added complexity of loading a module is
worth the yeild though.
