libglade and GObject support

Hi all,
  it seems to me that libglade doesn't support yet GtkSizeGroup and 
other non-GtkWidget objects.
There's a patch attached to this bug report:

but it has not been applied yet (after two years). What is blocking this 
patch?
Without this functionality, one still needs to do some manual C work on 
the libglade generated widget tree, which kills much of the benefit of 
using libglade.
