I agree with Tomas, that merging this (without FTS) should be fine for
3.0. I admit that I have also pondered dropping the beagle backend
(nautilus has done the same recently).
Medium-term, it would be god to redo this entire thing as an extension
point in gio, maybe, and share it with nautilus.
