couple of install problems

Hi,

I hate to post these question in here but i have to
try for the first and last.
1) I  install the redhat 6.0 and afterwards installed quota.
I tried to change or assign passwd for users or new users.
Then the system got hung as result.
2) Another problem is wheni try to upgrade the boot sector using
the lilo i get the same result, system hang up.

Anyone would know why?. and what should i do?.
