Sorry for the late reply.
As I said, ghelp doesn't do any lookups in scrollkeeper, therefor you
need to put all documents in one place. This is probably fine for all
the user docs (and might very well be for API docs too). Though I don't
think this is the correct solution since the API docs doesn't really fit
in $(prefix)/share/gnome/help, at least I don't think so.
I would like a scheme that uses scrollkeeper to lookup the URI's
instead, that's part of why it's there. And this scheme currently
doesn't exist so it will have to be invented.
Maybe the ghelp: uri-scheme should be changed into doing this or maybe
we should use another that is more descriptive (like
doc:API/Gtk+-2.0/GtkWidget or something).
