Adding codeset support to pango

Hi,

Can anyone provide instructions on how I could add support to pango for a "new" codeset (ansi1251)? 

Since ansi1251 is not an official codeset it is not available in tables-big.i.

Solaris 9 -> GNOME 2.0 -> ru_RU.ANSI1251 locale -> pangox.alias (ansi1251 entries added) -> gedit (cannot display cyrillic fontblank...)
