There is one way to test it.
Use FreeSans font and fire "pango-view" in your linux box with a writing system.
If it fails to render properly, It can not.

Till now I am very satisfied with Pango. I am also interested to know which language it can not render.

Currently I am not satisfied with the anti-aliasing implementation. Sometimes It works sometimes it doesn't. I am using Cairo to draw.
