It's not a bad idea if there is no / character in the filename spec.
Can't people get at the pixmaps anyway by creating a style holding
that pixmap, asking for a style by name, and then getting the pixmap out
of it?  It's not perhaps the best way about it, but might be a workaround
now.  I haven't tried it to be sure.
