Documentation?

So, I'm new to gtk+. I've tried to do all the proper
get-to-know-a-library things, like reading all the documentation.
I've read the FAQ. I've read the TeXinfo docs in the distribution.
I've read the tutorial. However, I'm hampered by the fact that
nowhere can I find complete documentation of the interfaces for a
number of the gtk+ objects. Lots of objects have empty info nodes,
and are referred to in the tutorial only in the category of
"undocumented".
So, this is a twofold question. Here and now, I'm trying to figure
out the interface for the GtkRange widget, and wondering what a
GtkAdjustment object is and how it works (especially in conjunction
with the GtkRange widget).
On a longer term, I'm wondering if there's some mystical more complete
documentation out there somewhere that I should be reading, and which
I just haven't been able to find out of cluelessness, or if I should
just give up and start reading sources and trying to make inferences
from example code (which, while well-written, seems to be mostly
uncommented and opaque).
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.
