Despite your next email, I don't believe it has been applied.  The
reason is that the functionality (a function to merge to sorted lists)
seems somewhat superceeded by other patches that have been submitted
to merge-sort a list.

Nobody has gotten around to figuring out which of the submitted patches
is better, so nothing has been applied yet.
