autogen messages

Hello:

Running ./autogen.sh --prefix=/home/gnome from /home/gnome/gtk+ after
bringing down the 1.1.3 version from CVS gave me these messages and no
Makefile:  (This is my first try at this!  Suggestions greatly
appreciated.)
