| i just happened to looking for a solution to that very same problem so
i tried what you suggested and it worked perfectly. i was putting my labels in a table.   it looks much better
now.     now if i could only get my text entry fields
to look that good.

 Are you packing them with the GTK_EXPAND option?  I would think
that
justification is incompatible with GTK_EXPAND.
