netscape color mixup after install of glib/gtk+ 1.2.3!

Hi!
I installed glib/gtk+ 1.2.3 - and now netscape can't display it's colors
properly. The only thing I have done is install these libs, and modify
etc/ld.so.conf to include /usr/lib (and I ran /sbin/ldconfig)...
I'm new to linux and it's shared libraries and resources...Any ideas?
