  You didn't describe you problem in detail.
  If you'd like to prevent that gdk window from getting key_press_event,
  you can (IMO) just do:

gdk_window_set_events(wnd,gdk_window_get_events(wnd)&
	~(GDK_KEY_PRESS_MASK|GDK_KEY_RELEASE_MASK));
