text cursor-color in gtk2

Is there any way to change the text-cursor color for widgets like edit
boxes ?

In Gtk 1.x, it seemed the cursor would blink between the color of the
text and the color of the background. so if I had white text on a blue
background, the cursor would alternate between blue and white

but in gtk2, my cursor always alternates between the background color
and black, regardless of the text color . so if my background is black
-  I can't see my cursor.

I was hopoing for a simple gtkrc fix.
