Scale widget up/down movement vs adjustment value

I'd like an inversed vertical scale widget, where bottom position means
minimum and top position means maximum. People I've asked haven't been
able to come up with anything but annoying workarounds. I assume there is
some ingenious flag somewhere that reverses the direction of these sort of
widgets?
