The symbols you are missing should all be defined in
/usr/local/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so, check to make sure they are there:

nm /usr/local/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so | grep gdk_drawable_get_display

to check if the symbols are there.

Do you have LD_LIBRARY_PATH set to some other directory then /usr/local/lib
perhaps ?
