attached is a patch that implements the functions mentioned in the
topic. Tested with the following snippet:

  # prints path of previously selected row
  $view -> get_selection() -> set_select_function(sub {
    my ($selection, $model, $path, $selected) = @_;

    $selection -> selected_foreach(sub {
      my ($model, $path, $iter) = @_;
      warn $path -> to_string();
    });

    return 1;
  });
