Execute associated image viewer or media player on button click

Hi All,

I have 2 buttons in my program.  One labelled 'Play' and the other 'View'.  Is there a way to call the 
associated image viewer or media player when a file has been found and then the button is clicked?

Not sure if I should be asking here or on a Perl forum.
