Yeah, that's a git peculiarity to distinguish between the old and the
new versions. To deal with this, tell `patch' to ignore the first path
components by passing it "-p1". But even then the above patch will not
apply to a released version of Glib as it depends on the previous
commit. I think it would be easiest if you worked with a full checkout:
git clone git://git.gnome.org/perl-Glib
