Take a look into cell_renderer_text propertie proxy's (
http://gtkmm.org/gtkmm2/docs/reference/html/classGtk_1_1CellRendererText.html)

property_background () and property_font () are of special interest to
you, i guess. I don't know about the insensitive thing, but i'm sure
someone else on this list does.
