 I don't believe we use gnomevfssrc explicitly anywhere, we only use it via 
Gnonlin. And I believe Gnonlin does things via Gstreamer's automatic URI 
handling magic, so only uses gnomevfssrc if it's installed, otherwise it 
uses something else (e.g. filesrc).
