You can't mix g++ 3.3 and 4.0, ever. I think that 3.4 and 4.0 _might_ be
ABI compatible.
But the libsigc++ supplied by your debian distribution should be
compiled with the same C++ compiler that your debian distribution
supplies by default. So if it's not working, this is probably a debian
bug. If you submit a bug, please do mention the link here.
Personally, I think debian testing is only for testing, which means
finding bugs.
